More Star Crystal options.

Adding more points........ And even more points. Work continues on Star Crystal. Lots and lots of design wall work. I climbed up and down off my step ladder arranging and rearranging. It actually took 3 days for me to come up with my final arrangement, and to figure out the order in which to sew units together. The actual stitching and pressing is actually the easy part, even though there are seemingly thousands of intersecting and matching seams. So now, I'm struggling with designing appropriately big, bold, and suitable appliques for the large white squares, and it's also time to start thinking about borders, and quilting patterns. This, folks, is how I really work. I start out with an idea, but lots of times, it evolves into something quite different from what I initially envisioned. It's almost like a dialog with the quilt taking shape on the wall. The original idea and drawings will be shelved and used for another quilt another day. Fine tuning the quilt center took nearly all day. Pay close attention to the central star here: More points, and here's one more option: TOMORROW: My final choice for the arrangement of the points, beginning freezer paper applique.
